Koelker Excavating is seeking hardworking and dependable General Laborers to support our sitework and utility crews on commercial construction projects. This position is essential to keeping our jobsites running smoothly and safely.
Ideal candidates are team players who aren’t afraid to get dirty, can take direction, and enjoy physical, hands-on work outdoors. Whether you’re new to construction or looking to grow your skills, we provide the opportunity to learn and move up in the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
- No prior experience required — we will train motivated individuals
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet all day
- Comfortable using hand tools, shovels, rakes, and compactors
- Able to work in all weather conditions, on uneven terrain
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow safety procedures
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Must be punctual and dependable
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist operators, pipe layers, and foremen with daily site tasks
- Use hand tools to dig, backfill, compact, or clean work areas
- Place and move materials, tools, and equipment
- Set up site protection, signage, and temporary fencing
- Help with pipe laying, concrete prep, and surface grading
- Follow verbal and written instructions from foremen and superintendents
- Keep jobsite clean and organized throughout the day
- Practice safe work habits at all times
